Senior Developer

MyGameMug is seeking a Senior Developer with significant LAMP stack experience. You will be an integral part of MyGameMug's development team: all the way from tweaking our matchmaking algorithm to designing the database architecture to tweaking UI/UX.

• B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Intimate familiarity with PHP 5 and MySQL
• Deep Javascript / AJAX / DHTML experience - JQuery framework experience preferred
• Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment
• Experience with Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, XML-RPC)
• Fluent in SQL (MySQL experience preferred). Understanding of O/R mapping concepts and tools
• Must be passionate about emerging web technologies, Web 2.0 and community building with a demonstrated track record of execution

• Experience with online dating sites (Match, Y!Personals, eHarmony, Friendfinder), social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Bebo), hobby sites, forums and communities, and consumer review sites like Yelp and epinions are a big plus.

UI/UX Developer

You will help with developing and extending the user interface and user experience of MyGameMug. Your primary responsibilities will be implementing AJAX and Javascript around the site to enhance the user experiences. Strong interest and knowledge of video games is a huge plus.

• Meticulously think through every aspect of MyGameMug's user experience, putting users' needs and expectations first
• Deep Javascript / AJAX / DHTML experience - JQuery framework experience preferred
• Able to design, code, unit test, and debug complex, DOM-based web software applications supporting multiple browsers
• Fluent with HTML and CSS, and able to code them by hand
• Experience designing modular, object-oriented JavaScript
• Proficient with at least one JavaScript debugger (FireBug, etc.)
• Must be passionate about emerging web technologies, Web 2.0 and community building with a demonstrated track record of execution

• Experience with online dating sites (Match, Y!Personals, eHarmony, Friendfinder), social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Bebo), video game sites, forums and communities, and consumer review sites (Yelp, Amazon) are a big plus.
• Strong OO design skills, and understanding of design patterns
